Dr. Rhoda Wanyenze MBChB, MPH, PhD, is a Professor and Dean at Makerere University School of Public Health (MakSPH). She has >25 years’ experience in infectious diseases research, program management, and capacity building in Uganda and sub-Saharan Africa. She has been engaged in HIV and other infectious diseases programming for >25 years, at various levels (clinical, program management, research, and policy development) and has effectively managed large service, capacity building, and research projects with multiple partnerships. She has implemented various projects with funding from the NIH, US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, The Global Fund, among others, and has published >150 peer reviewed publications. Dr. Wanyenze has served on various technical committees of the Ministry of Health (MOH) and served on Boards of various agencies in Uganda and globally. She is currently a member of the COVID-19 Scientific Advisory Committee to the Ministry of Health and is leading an evaluation of the COVID-19 response across four countries in Africa.
